Show Me Doves Poem Page

Poem #1

For many centuries,
the White Dove has been an emblem
of Peace, Love and New Beginnings.

As a symbolic gesture,
to seal their marriage vows,
(bride and groom) are now going to release
these two pure white birds.

The Doves will fly upwards
and circle above us a few times,
then fly home together, as a pair.

This symbolizes our newly-wed couple
setting off on their journey in life together,
in harmony.

(bride and groom), we wish for you,
that your life together will be long, rich and rewarding.

May your marriage carry with it
all the wonderful qualities
that the White Dove represents.

Poem #2

As you begin your new journey as husband and wife,
let this pair of doves symbolize the love and devotion
that will grow through your years together.

May the memory of these two creatures,
who bond together for life,
will serve as inspiration as you both go forth --
traveling a path started by two,
and combining as one
with a never ending love for one another.

Poem #3

The Legend of the Doves

One the Lord of Heaven chose two doves, both young and fair
and told them of a very special journey they would share.

"Go now upon the earth and seek two hearts where you may dwell,
and there I shall surely come and make my home with
you as well. We'll join the two and make them one. A Husband and a Wife,
my spirit will endow their love with everlasting life."

Today the Doves still bring the sacred promise from above,
to those whose hearts are open to the miracle of love.

Poem #4

On Wings of Love
these white birds are a symbol of
a public confession of true love.

Spreading news for all to see,
this marriage is made of Peace,
Harmony and Unity.

White winged messengers,
set free today,
are sent with blessings that
will never fade away.

Poem #5

(Bride) and (Groom) are now going to release
these two pure white doves.

The Doves will fly upwards and circle above us a
few times, then fly home together as a pair.

This symbolizes our newly-wed couple setting
off on their life together, in harmony.

(Bride) and (Groom), we pray that your life
together will be prosperous in spirit, soul and body.

May your marriage carry with it all the wonderful qualities
of the Holy Spirit that the White Dove represents.

Poem #6

Dove Poem

Two doves meeting in the sky
Two loves hand in hand, eye to eye
Two parts of a loving whole
Two hearts and a single soul

Two stars shining big and bright
Two fires bringing warmth and light
Two songs played in perfect tune
Two flowers growing into bloom

Two Doves gliding in the air
Two loves free without a care
Two parts of a loving whole
Two hearts and a single soul

Poem #7

Together

Together you will fly away
And start your life anew
On this very special day
Made for the two of you

The sun will dance upon your wings
And from the heavens above
All the Angels start to sing
For your never ending love

Poem #8

Eyes

Our eyes met, my heart just knew
my soul was meant for only you
you share my goals, my dreams,
my fears we'll send a prayer of thanks to God above,
a symbol of our faith,
the white winged dove.
As they soar overhead then fly away
all will remember our wedding day

Poem #9

TWO

Two hands to hold onto forever
Two arms to be embraced by eternally
Two eyes to gaze into for always
Two lips to kiss so passionately
Two souls fused by commitment
Two lives entertwined by God
Two hearts joined by the purest love.

May the two doves you release today
symbolize the beauty of the life you will
share together as husband and wife.
We wish you all the best, (bride & groom),
God Bless You!

Family poem

Just as doves are a symbol of love, peace and fidelity,
these doves released today signify
two families joining together as one.

May you both be blessed with the same love,
which God bestowed upon these doves,
keeping them together for life.

May the doves released today, representing
Bride______ and Groom______,
be a reminder of the strength found in love
and in growth, as you become one in the
beginning of your new lives together.

May the three doves represent, (children), _______, _______.
The white of their wings soaring overhead
represent the purity of your children’s innocence.
As the doves come together on their journey home,
may the five of you join together, for there
is immeasurable strength in a family.
